This week was our favourite experiment. The helicopter test flight. We made paper helicopters and did a lot of test flights. We talked about the force of gravity pushing the helicopters to the ground, and the force of air pushing upwards, slowing the helicopters fall.
Then we took our helicopters and shortened their wings to see if this affected the force and the speed with which the helicopter fell to the ground. We had to make sure we kept everything else about our test flight the same as our original test flights.
We planned our investigation carefully making sure we only changed the thing we were testing. |
Then we predicted what would happen and observed the test flights to see if our preditions were correct. |
It was great to see that all the learning we have completed has helped us to really understand what is happening when push and pull forces are at play!
